One notable event I planned focused on the importance of representation in storytelling.
Farrah Goes on Safari
Self-Published
During some brief time off in 2019, I decided to write a children's book depicting an immigrant family in an attempt to fill in a gap in representation in children's books. According to Lee & Law (2019) less than 1% of children's books depict a Middle Eastern family. “Farrah Goes On Safari” is about a little girl named Farrah and her immigrant family, going to Tanzania on a safari trip.
